This shows the transom after the final layers of woven roving were glassed in place. The roving is cut about 6-8 inches bigger than the transom template so that it flares out onto the sides of the hull. Then additional 12” strips were added (you can just barely see them in the picture) along the bottom and sides, covering the joint between transom and hull, being careful to not allow these strips to cover any of the area marked as “splashwell.” Again, don’t allow too much resin to “pool” in the bilge area. Note the old 4x8 sheet of plywood used as a “workbench” on the floor of the boat – this will keep resin and such from getting all over your new floor.
